I hate to say this but I am going to, losing weight is easy!!! it's the process by which you have to lose that weight that is deemed as not so easy!
What I mean is, if you know the correct formula, the correct energy system and the correct techniques to use then you will see that losing weight is easy!! The hard part is overcoming the phsycological barriers that you will face along the way!
In my opinion losing weight is 20% physical 80% mental. The harsh truth is, to lose weight you have to exercise and a lot of people I have spoken to in my seminars simply don't want to exercise and then they wonder why they are overweight. The problem is, they have never been given the correct information before, until now that is, I have a huge success rate with my members.
It's not only exercise and diet that will make you lose weight, it's knowledge, this woman didn't know how to do it correctly, until I told her and showed her. She is still a member of my plan and she will continue to lose body fat until she is happy with herself.
That's the other important thing, don't do it to please other people, do it to please yourself. Don't be a size 10 because society forces it upon you, be a healthy size 12 to 14 because that's where you want to be, as long as your healthy at that weight and you are away from risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes and other weight related health issues, that's the most important thing.
We (human beings) are designed to exercise, obesity is a 20th century condition with the introduction of fast food outlets and the like. Don't get me wrong, there may be other factors that contribute to a persons weight, i'm not saying everyone that is overweight is because of the food they eat but over 90% of them are for that reason.
All I can say is, losing weight is so possible and very achieveable it just depends how badly you want it! If you want it so bad that you would suggest surgery then I believe you could recycle that motivation to use it to do it the correct and safe way.
There is a simple formula that will guarantee weight loss and that is:
energy in <energy out, in other words you need to expend more energy through exercise compared the the energy you consume in food.
That doesn't however justify a diet high in saturated fats etc, you have to control what you eat, avoid simple carbs and try to eat more complex carbs.
Do you know it is almost impossible to gain weight by eating too many complex carbs, there are many sources of complex carbs and they are all extremely tasty!
You will be surprised at the type of meals you can cook that will help you lose weight.
Fat burning recipes that I give to my clients include:

Spagetti Bolognese
You might thing that some of those meals are extremely fattening! Not if you know what ingredients to use and just as important, how to cook them correctly! All of those meals are extremely tasty but the best part is, they are almost all virtually fat free and all contain excellent fat burning ingredients. They are just to name a few.
Eating healthy doesn't mean eating tasteless food, it just means cutting out all the processed and high fat foods that are so easily available today!
Losing weight is about choice, but it's often misconstrued to be about a lot more. Don't be unhappy with the fact that you are overweight, be happy that you are here trying to figure out what to do about it. That is a positive step but don't let it just be a mental satisfier! What I mean is, don't justify to yourself that just because you are on the internet looking at ways to lose weight that this is all you have to do and that is enough! You have to take on board what people say, especially those that know what they are talking about and give the correct advice!
Don't give up, certainly don't have surgery, you can lose weight, I would happily guarantee that, all you have to do is choose, choose to lose that weight.
