women in particular are scared of training with weights for the fear of becoming over-muscular. this is a widespread myth. in fact, weight training can give you the body you've always wished for. look at (no links please) for more about this as well as other exercise and weight loss myths.

Definitely, weight training is a must! It raises your BMR so you're burning more fat at rest, besides if you don't want bulk just definition you can always just complete more reps with a lighter dumbbell. I do some weight training most days when at home :)

Yes! I'm a female powerlifter, and I hate it when other women say "I don't want to lift, I'll look like a man!". I train hard and heavy four times a week, and eat a specific diet in order to gain muscle, and I still look feminine.

Weight training is a great addition to an exercise programme for everyone - male or female. I always like to see others spreading the word :)

more reps with a lighter dumbbell, totally with you! That's how to tone up without buffing up at the same time.
