hi folks

I have tried excercise and diet control to lose weight but nothing seems to work for me. Now I am thinking to buy Reductil, Xenical or Acomplia but confused which one to try. There are so many websites with loads of information on Xenical, Acomplia and Reductil but I want a first hand experience. So if someone has used Acomplia, Xenical or Reductil for weight loss, please let me know what were the results.

thanx

Hi there I am currently taking Reductil (sibutramine), I am taking them under medical supervision and I would not suggest anyone take them without this. I get weight and blood pressure checks every 2 weeks. So far taking these along with a 1000cal a day diet has been very successful; I have lost 32 lbs or around 14 kgs in 4 weeks. I do experience side effects from the medication (dry mouth & dizziness) but nothing that would make me stop taking them.

I hope this helps.

Helloooo :) , My name is Barbara and im a 87kg ....5'-5" woman of 54yrs!!
I was slim my whole life (never less than a size 10 or more than a size 12 ) untill i tried to stop smoking, aged 42
with each attempt i put on weight and gradually went up in dress sizes till i was a size twenty

Now a proud nonsmoker and a size 16 ive tried to get back to my beloved size 12 but justcant

Since then nothing seems to shift the weight and a recent joyous discovery of zelda (wii) means im on my buns much more than usuall, couple that with smoking cesation and i was a little concerned about where my weight could end up....

So i decided its now or never and i told my doctor that i want to lose some weight, primarily for health reasons so i can run around after my firstborn grandson in a few months, but also to improve my copd, fybromyalgia and arthritis.

He recomended reductil (10MG) combined with pulmanary rehab (monitored exercises 2 times weekly for 8 weeks) and i just started with both of them yesterday..... as yet no obvious side effects.

MY SHORT TERM GOALS

I will try to eat more healthily and exercise more frequently
I will excersise with another fatty to aid success
I will help others by posting calory counted recipes

I will update here after my 4 week weigh in.......B

I am currently using 10mg of reductil - in 8 weeks (with regular exercise like walking the dogs & my full time job). I have lost a total of 38lb. However, this is no miracle drug, you still need the determination to want to suceed - and there will still be tough days.

I have changed my diet & eating habits completely - I also see a dietician monthly.

Hi!

Im new to the forums and starting my new "life" and new diet tomorrow after booking a holiday for december. Im replying to your post because i have had both xenical and reductil and found the side effects to xenical horrific, whereas i got on really well with reductil. Im off back to the doctors on wednesday to start my weight loss regime and this time its a change for life.
